After a week, the rats have started to warm up to me, and every time I open the gate on the cage, they are ready to come out. I am rethinking the cage placement...right now they are in the basement, which is full of book and boxes and has a suspended ceiling that I see them somehow getting into and I'll never be able to find them again...I think a change of venue to a smaller room with a door is in order, so that they can venture out ofthe cage to play but I won't have a heart attack.
